The tradition of viticulture has been handed down from father to son for five generations.
The story began in 1870, with great-grandfather Pietro, a son of peasants, and it continues today with La Pietra Di Tommasone.
Nowadays our vineyards embrace an area of 13.42 hectares that are divided into as many as 11 estates, ranging from the Municipality of Lacco Ameno in the northwest, to Forio in the western part of the island, up to Sant’Angelo, the southernmost point of ‘Ischia, with one of the most prestigious of our vineyards: Tenuta Monte Zunta, at 450 meters above sea level.
We heavily rely on native vines and eighty percent of our vineyards are registered as Controlled Denomination of Origin. Biancolella and Forastera are grown as Whites and Piedirosso and Guarnaccia as Reds. The remaining twenty percent of the vineyards are instead cultivated as Typical Geographical Indication. Here we grow the grapes for our Cuveès: Fiano and Fanlanghina as Whites and Aglianico and Montepulciano as Reds.
